Rising Beyond Boundaries: The Inspiring Journey of Amarinder Sadana
In every success story, there lies a thread of determination, resilience, and relentless pursuit of excellence. At CXO Gateway, we celebrate leaders who not only climb the corporate ladder but inspire others to believe in the power of hard work and vision. Today, we turn the spotlight on Amarinder Sadana, who has recently been appointed as Regional Director – Revenue Management, India and South West Asia at Hyatt.
His journey, spanning more than two decades across continents, is not just a career chronicle — it is a story of how consistency, adaptability, and perseverance can transform challenges into milestones.
The Humble Beginnings
Like many great leaders, Amarinder did not start at the top. His career began in India in 2003 with various revenue management and operational roles across brands such as Starwood, Lemon Tree, Citrus, Carlson, and Raintree. These years laid the foundation of his expertise — understanding the pulse of revenue systems, learning the art of balance between numbers and guest experiences, and building the grit required to thrive in the fast-paced world of hospitality.
These early years were not about titles, but about building skills, discipline, and resilience. They taught him that success is not built overnight but through persistence and an unwavering belief in continuous growth.
Scaling New Heights Across Asia
In 2010, Amarinder stepped into his first directorial role at The Westin Hyderabad, followed by leadership positions in Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur and The Westin Kuala Lumpur. Each move represented not just a change in geography, but a leap into bigger responsibilities and higher expectations.
Leading diverse teams across Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, Amarinder proved that leadership is not about authority — it is about vision, collaboration, and inspiring others to rise along with you. His time at Starwood and IHG helped sharpen his ability to align global standards with local markets, a skill that would define much of his future leadership.
The Hilton Legacy – Building Global Impact
Amarinder’s association with Hilton became one of the most defining chapters of his career. Over nearly a decade, he led commercial and revenue management functions across regions, including India, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, and the United Arab Emirates.
As Cluster Commercial Director in Dubai, he took charge of some of Hilton’s most iconic properties — Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Hilton Dubai The Walk, and Hilton Dubai Creek. Here, his leadership wasn’t just about driving revenue; it was about transforming commercial strategies, mentoring teams, and ensuring that each property thrived amidst intense competition.
His ability to lead multicultural teams and deliver consistent growth made him a trusted leader within the Hilton ecosystem — someone who could balance global corporate vision with regional market realities.
A Regional Force at Minor Hotels
In 2023, Amarinder took on one of the most challenging and rewarding roles of his career — Regional Director of Revenue Management, Asia, at Minor Hotels. Based in Bangkok, he led the revenue management function for over 60 hotels across 7 countries including Thailand, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India.
Managing such a vast portfolio demanded more than expertise — it required agility, foresight, and the ability to unify diverse teams under a single strategy. His leadership helped strengthen brand positioning and maximize growth in some of Asia’s most competitive hospitality markets.
Coming Home with Hyatt – A New Chapter
In 2025, Amarinder returned to India, this time stepping into one of the most prestigious positions of his career — Regional Director of Revenue Management, India and South West Asia at Hyatt.
For him, this is not just a new role, but a homecoming — bringing back the wealth of global experience he has gathered to shape the growth of Hyatt in one of the world’s most dynamic regions. His appointment is a testament to his resilience, adaptability, and vision — qualities that every aspiring leader can learn from.
Lessons from Amarinder’s Journey
What makes Amarinder Sadana’s journey truly inspiring is not just the impressive list of titles and companies he has worked with, but the story behind it:
- Hard work beats shortcuts – He built his career step by step, proving that consistency always outweighs quick wins.
- Adaptability is key – From India to Malaysia, Singapore to Dubai, and Bangkok back to India — every shift demanded learning, flexibility, and courage to embrace change.
- Leadership is about impact, not titles – At every stage, he grew by lifting others, aligning teams, and driving collective success.
