With more than 30 years of diverse leadership experience spanning the energy, manufacturing, and service sectors, along with successful ventures as a business owner, Dean brings to the role a rare combination of entrepreneurial grit, strategic foresight, and proven operational excellence. Dean’s journey with Hitachi Energy began in 2023 as the US Commercial & Industrial Service Sales Leader, where he quickly established a reputation for aligning aggressive growth strategies with the company’s mission of advancing a sustainable energy future. His ability to merge strategic thinking with executional precision enabled him to lead high-impact initiatives that strengthened customer relationships and delivered tangible business gains. Now, as Director, US Service Sales, Dean steps into a role that will see him guiding a high-performing national sales team, fostering a culture of performance, and steering the organization toward record-breaking revenues in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

His path to this position has been marked by leadership roles in some of the world’s most respected companies. At Southwest Electric Co., Dean served as Vice President & General Manager for the Field Service and Switchgear Divisions, where he redefined operational performance, expanded market presence, and elevated service delivery through a blend of technical capability and customer-first strategies. His eight-year tenure at ABB was equally impactful, with senior positions including Director of Strategic Marketing – Service Sales and US Division Service Sales & Marketing Manager. In these roles, Dean consistently expanded service market share, built strategic partnerships, and implemented new service models that improved efficiency, responsiveness, and profitability.

Earlier in his career, Deann roles from IFS Commercial Solutions Engineer to District Operations Manager. His expertise extended to streamlining operations, optimizing manufacturing processes, and leading diverse teams in high-pressure environments. He also gained valuable insight into large-scale manufacturing and supply chain operations during his time as a Service Parts Engineer at General Motors. Beyond his corporate achievements, Dean’s entrepreneurial ventures — as owner of American General Contracting and Stark Properties — gave him a hands-on understanding of business growth, client relationship management, and the importance of adaptability in a dynamic market.
