Dave Glaser Takes Charge as Chief Operating Officer at NMI

Accelerating embedded payments, account-to-account rails, and post‑acquisition integration

NMI has appointed Dave Glaser as Chief Operating Officer following its acquisition of Dwolla. Dave brings more than 30 years in payments and fintech — a blend of product, operations, and go‑to‑market leadership that will help NMI scale embedded finance and integrate Dwolla’s capabilities into its platform.

What he’ll focus on

In his new role, Dave will lead the operational work that turns strategy into outcomes. Early priorities include:

  • Leading the Dwolla integration and ensuring a smooth transition for customers and partners
  • Expanding embedded payments and account‑to‑account (A2A) capabilities, with an API‑first approach
  • Strengthening rail connectivity and payment orchestration across use cases
  • Aligning teams and processes for consistent, scalable execution across ISOs, ISVs, SaaS vendors, PayFacs and enterprises
  • Supporting customers and employees through the integration while accelerating growth

Why NMI brought him in

Dave led Dwolla as CEO and previously served there as President and COO. At Dwolla he repositioned the platform around APIs, scaled account‑to‑account rails, pushed AI‑enabled payment orchestration, and grew the business toward Rule of 40 profitability and annual growth north of 30%. He also guided Dwolla through the acquisition process and prepared the company for a smooth handoff — experience that’s directly relevant as NMI brings two product sets together.

Payments pedigree and operating chops
Before Dwolla, Dave held senior roles at Mastercard, Worldpay, CyberSource/Visa and other global payments firms. Highlights include:

  • Driving global payment acceptance and enterprise strategies at Mastercard
  • Leading product, marketing and customer excellence for Worldpay’s eCommerce business
  • Building services, implementations and operations at CyberSource and Visa
  • Early career roles in technology and consulting that laid a strong technical and operational foundation

How he adds value
Dave’s mix of product vision, operations discipline and M&A experience lets him move fast without losing control. He knows how to modernize platforms, improve developer‑friendly APIs, and scale operations so partners and customers get reliable, performant payment services.

Why it matters now

Payments is shifting quickly: embedded finance, open banking, A2A rails and real‑time flows are reshaping how money moves. NMI’s hire signals a push to deliver broader money‑movement capabilities, better orchestration, and stronger integration for partners — all while keeping operational resilience front and center.

CXO Gateway perspective

At CXO Gateway we see Dave’s appointment as a practical, growth‑focused move. His track record — from CyberSource and Visa to Worldpay, Mastercard, Dwolla and now NMI — reflects how payments leaders must combine engineering, product and operations to deliver modern financial infrastructure at scale.
