Based in the United States, Brown brings more than a decade of experience spanning technology partnerships, cybersecurity, channel development, sales, executive communities, and business development. His career reflects a progressive transition from sales and account development into increasingly strategic partnership and ecosystem leadership roles.

In his new position at Advantage Partners, Brown is positioned to leverage his experience in building partner ecosystems, developing strategic relationships, engaging industry communities, and creating commercially valuable alliances.

Building Strategic Partnerships at Advantage Partners

As Head of Partnerships at Advantage Partners, Brown takes on a leadership mandate centered on strengthening relationships and creating new opportunities through strategic collaboration.

Partnership-led growth has become increasingly important across technology and cybersecurity markets, where organizations often depend on interconnected ecosystems of technology providers, resellers, consultants, service providers, and industry communities.

Brown’s background gives him a strong foundation for navigating these ecosystems. His experience includes partner relationship management, reseller and VAR networks, technology alliances, MSSP programs, PCI community engagement, and enterprise sales.

His approach combines commercial discipline with relationship building–an important combination for organizations seeking to transform partnerships into sustainable business growth.

Deepening Cybersecurity Partnerships at Source Defense

Before joining Advantage Partners, Brown spent more than six years with Source Defense, where he held several progressively senior positions.

Most recently, he served as Director of Strategic Partnerships & PCI Community Engagement, leading initiatives involving channel reseller and VAR management, PCI community programs, technology alliance partnerships, and MSSP relationships.

His responsibilities placed him at the intersection of cybersecurity, compliance, technology partnerships, and ecosystem development.

Brown also served as Director of PCI Partnerships, where he focused on strategic partnership development and partner relationship management. His work reflected the growing importance of collaboration in addressing cybersecurity challenges across increasingly complex digital environments.

Earlier at Source Defense, he served as Inside Sales Manager, building sales capabilities while developing relationships across the cybersecurity market.

Source Defense focuses on protecting organizations from risks associated with the modern web’s digital supply chain. Brown’s experience at the company provided him with direct exposure to the evolving relationship between cybersecurity technology, enterprise risk, compliance, and partner ecosystems.

Expanding Cybersecurity Community Engagement

In 2020, Brown served as Executive Director at the Cybersecurity Collaboration Forum, further strengthening his experience in cybersecurity-focused community development.

The role expanded his exposure to cybersecurity executives and industry stakeholders while emphasizing collaboration, executive engagement, sales, and relationship development.

This experience complemented his later work at Source Defense, giving him a broader understanding of how cybersecurity communities and commercial ecosystems can work together to address emerging challenges.

Building Executive Relationships at Gartner

Earlier in his career, Brown worked at Gartner as a CISO Program Manager – Account Executive.

Based in the Portland metropolitan area, he managed a community of enterprise CISOs in Minneapolis, enabling senior cybersecurity leaders to collaborate with peers and vendor partners.

The role strengthened his expertise in executive relationship management, cross-functional leadership, partner engagement, and community development.

Working directly with senior technology and security executives also provided valuable insight into the priorities influencing enterprise technology purchasing and cybersecurity decision-making.

Delivering Strong Sales Performance at UpGuard

Before Gartner, Brown served as Senior Sales Development Representative at UpGuard, where he developed a strong foundation in cybersecurity sales and pipeline generation.

He consistently exceeded his target of more than 15 qualified meetings per month and led the team in pipeline added, generating approximately $1 million in pipeline and contributing to approximately $550,000 in closed-won opportunities during 2017, according to his profile.

He also conducted product demonstrations and managed the complete sales cycle for smaller deals while using platforms including HubSpot and Salesforce to manage sales activity and campaigns.

This period strengthened the commercial foundation that would later support his transition into strategic partnerships and ecosystem leadership.

Developing SaaS Relationships at Webtrends

At Webtrends, Brown worked in Account Development, focusing on strategic outbound prospecting and executive relationship building with prospective SaaS clients.

He developed outbound lead-generation strategies in collaboration with sales and marketing leadership and consistently exceeded quarterly lead-generation targets.

The experience helped establish his ability to combine structured sales processes with relationship-driven business development–skills that have remained central throughout his career.

Creating Executive Communities at Evanta

Brown’s career also includes nearly four years with Evanta, where he progressed from Community Development Specialist to Account Executive.

As an Account Executive, he developed and maintained relationships with senior executives including Fortune 1000 CIOs, CISOs, and CDOs.

He launched summits in San Francisco and Richmond while contributing to record revenues for existing events in Minneapolis and Washington, D.C.

His performance included achieving 136% of a $200,000 personal sales goal and 116% of a $325,000 event sales quota.

The role combined sales, project management, marketing, executive relationship development, and event leadership–providing Brown with valuable experience in building communities around senior technology decision-makers.

Earlier, as Community Development Specialist, he worked on prospecting, CRM and database management, post-conference evaluation, and the development of training documentation and KPI frameworks.

A Career Built on Relationships and Commercial Growth

Brown’s professional journey demonstrates a consistent evolution from frontline sales and customer engagement into strategic partnership leadership.

His early experience at Bella Casa as Co Manager developed his capabilities in account management, relationship building, business development, inventory management, and retail operations. Before that, he worked as a Foreman at Remdal Painting & Restoration, where he hired, trained, and managed seasonal employees while overseeing projects ranging from $2,000 to $25,000.

He also gained an early exposure to public-sector and legislative environments through an internship with the House of Commons of Canada, supporting Justice Committee Chair Mr. Ed Fast with speech writing, press releases, legislative research, and constituent inquiries.

Together, these experiences contributed to a leadership style grounded in communication, accountability, relationship building, commercial execution, and collaboration.

Shaping the Next Generation of Partnership-Led Growth

Brown’s appointment as Head of Partnerships at Advantage Partners comes at a time when strategic ecosystems are becoming increasingly important to technology companies.

Organizations today are looking beyond traditional direct-sales models and increasingly leveraging technology alliances, channel partners, service providers, cybersecurity communities, and specialist networks to expand market reach and create differentiated value.

Brown’s experience across these areas positions him to contribute meaningfully to that evolution.

His background in cybersecurity partnerships, PCI community engagement, MSSP programs, reseller and VAR management, enterprise sales, and executive relationship development provides a multidimensional foundation for building effective partner ecosystems.

At Advantage Partners, his focus on strategic collaboration can help create stronger connections between organizations, technologies, and commercial opportunities while supporting sustainable growth.
