Before joining Agilent, Joydeep Ganguly held a distinguished career spanning more than two decades across leading biopharmaceutical and life sciences organizations — building a reputation as a transformational leader who consistently drives operational excellence at scale.
Most recently, Joydeep served as Senior Vice President – Corporate Operations and Board Chair of the Gilead Foundation at Gilead Sciences, where he led global operations across 90+ sites in 36 countries, overseeing 10 million square feet of biotechnology infrastructure. In this role, he was responsible for Corporate Real Estate, Engineering, EH&S, Procurement, Risk, Sustainability, and Digital Operations, managing an organization of 8,000+ professionals and an operations budget exceeding $2 billion.
As Gilead’s Chief Sustainability Officer, he pioneered the company’s first enterprise-wide sustainability roadmap and championed its entry into large molecule and cell therapy operations. His work catalyzed Gilead’s evolution into a global sustainability leader — integrating eco-friendly operations, energy-efficient design, and resilient infrastructure into every facet of its global operations.
Prior to Gilead, Joydeep spent nearly a decade at Biogen, where he served as Global Vice President – Manufacturing & Technical Operations. In this capacity, he led a global biologics manufacturing network spanning the U.S., Denmark, and Switzerland, ensuring seamless drug supply, technology transfers, and product commercialization. His leadership at Biogen’s manufacturing sites — including as General Manager and Site Head — positioned the company as a benchmark for technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
His career began at Bayer, where he honed his expertise in process engineering, automation, and data-driven manufacturing — experiences that would later shape his philosophy of building integrated, digitally intelligent operations ecosystems.
