Jodi Donovan Named Head of Global Talent Acquisition at embecta

Helping embecta hire smarter, faster, and more inclusively

embecta has appointed Jodi Donovan as Head of Global Talent Acquisition. With more than 20 years in talent and HR across healthcare, medtech and biotech, Jodi joins embecta to scale global hiring, strengthen leadership pipelines, and align workforce strategy with the company’s growth plans.

What she’ll lead

Jodi will run embecta’s global hiring strategy and the systems that make it work. Early priorities include:

  • Building scalable global recruiting programs and improving recruiter effectiveness
  • Strengthening succession planning and leadership development
  • Improving candidate experience and employer branding
  • Increasing workforce agility and alignment with business goals

Why embecta hired her

Jodi has a long track record of taking recruitment operations from tactical to strategic. At Viant Medical she led enterprise talent programs–improving internal mobility, scaling onboarding across the U.S., and delivering large hiring volumes through better sourcing and recruiter enablement. She also implemented ATS platforms and workforce analytics to make hiring decisions more data-driven.

Impact and inclusivity experience

At Medtronic, Jodi drove broad recruiting programs across R&D, sales, regulatory and more. She led diversity initiatives that noticeably increased underrepresented talent and launched virtual career events tied to Employee Resource Groups. Her work there combined hands-on hiring with leadership development and inclusive practices that stick.

Breadth of industry experience

Jodi’s background also includes senior talent roles at Covidien, EMD Serono, Tyco Healthcare and The Bowdoin Group. Across these roles she managed manufacturing and commercial hiring, global ATS rollouts, executive workforce planning, and major staffing integrations–experience that’s useful in highly regulated, fast-moving health and life sciences settings.

What she brings

  • Global talent acquisition strategy and execution
  • Leadership development and succession planning
  • Workforce analytics and HR tech experience
  • Proven diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives
  • Change management capability for large-scale HR programs

Why it matters now

Healthcare and life sciences are competing for specialized talent while undergoing digital change. embecta’s hire signals a push to build a scalable, data-enabled talent engine and to invest more in leadership readiness and inclusive hiring–areas that directly affect innovation and growth.

CXO Gateway view

At CXO Gateway we see Jodi’s appointment as part of a larger shift: talent leaders are becoming strategic architects of growth, not just recruiters. Her mix of operational rigor, tech-enabled hiring, and inclusive leadership positions embecta to hire the people it needs for the next phase of expansion.
